The 7DP-CAPLCA display supports Raspbian/Ubuntu/Kali/Retropie and Windows 10 IoT when connected to a Raspberry Pi. It offers single-point touch functionality in most operating systems, with potential support for up to 5-point multi-touch in certain software. However, it's important to note that the Raspberry Pi does not natively support hot-plug or auto-resolution detection, so the display resolution must be configured manually to ensure normal operation.

To set up the display with a Raspberry Pi, follow these steps: 1. Download the latest Raspbian image (full or desktop version recommended) from the official Raspberry Pi website. 2. Insert the microSD card into a card reader on your host PC and format it. If you already have a pre-configured microSD card, you can skip to step 4. 3. Use image writing software to copy the Raspbian (.img) file onto the formatted microSD card. Note that you'll need to unzip the file first to access the .img file. 4. After writing the image, open the config.txt file located in the BOOT directory and make the following modifications: a. Remove the line "dtoverlay=vc4-fkms-V3D" b. Add the following lines to the end of the file, then save: max_usb_current=1 hdmi_group=2 hdmi_mode=87 hdmi_cvt 1024 600 60 6 0 0 0 hdmi_drive=1

  1. Insert the microSD card into the Raspberry Pi.
  2. Connect the touch interface of the display to a USB port on the Raspberry Pi.
  3. Connect the display interface to the HDMI port on the Raspberry Pi.
  4. Power on the Raspberry Pi, and the LCD display should activate.

When using the display with a Windows PC, it supports Windows 7/8/8.1/10 and offers 5-point touch functionality without the need for drivers. To set it up, follow these steps: 1. Turn the backlight switch on the back of the display to the "ON" position. 2. Connect the touch interface of the display to a USB port on the PC using a micro-USB cable. 3. Connect the display interface to an HDMI port on the PC using a standard HDMI cable. 4. Wait for the display to be recognized.
